Supervisor of Planning  
York, PA

Summary –

The Supervisor of Planning leads the scheduling and execution of manufacturing hydroelectric turbine components focusing on safety, quality, on-time delivery, and utilization.

 

Responsibilities –

  • Apply critical technical thinking using manufacturing plans/ drawings/ work instructions to adjust manufacturing steps/ priorities/ processes as necessary.
  • Analyze drawings to provide input on resource availability for quick turnaround components.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing department heads to identify critical path activities and remove potential bottleneck situations.
  • Participate in design reviews for components to provide input on potential manufacturing/ design issues as well as cost reduction strategies.
  • Utilize overtime and outsourcing of components when necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Provide durations using estimates for projects in the bidding phase to develop an OTO schedule.
  • Support Project Managers with customer reports, presentations and meetings related to manufacturing scheduling, delivery performance, and manufacturing cost to complete.
  • Forecast future workload (roughly 1 year) utilizing Load Charts and Primavera to ensure adequate resources to meet deadlines.
  • Track manufacturing project budgets and generate cost to complete when necessary.  Create commercial notifications to ensure budget accuracy.
  • Resolve manufacturing related SAP inquiries.
  • Communicate component status and roadblocks to the organization.

 

Qualifications –

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar discipline
  • Recommended 2 years’ experience in manufacturing process planning, project scheduling, or project management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Primavera (P6), SAP
  • Experience in custom product manufacturing flow
  • Understanding of Float Management, Capacity Planning

  • The employee is also required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting (PPE required).  The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8 hours. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.
  • The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
