Sr. Offer Project Manager

Summary – The Senior Offer Project Manager (S-OPM) is a strategically oriented, self-starting individual with a strong technical background who is able to interact with various technical and commercial disciplines, and to provide proposal team leadership and guidance to proposal team members. A broad knowledge of the company’s products and processes is required. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the development of proposals for projects from receipt of Request for Quotation to Contract Award and Handover to OTC. Given the seniority of this position, it is expected that the incumbent will successfully lead strategic/complex/very large/mega proposals from inception to contract award.
Responsibilities –
- Orchestrating practices and managing all internal and external commitments from Direction Setting to signing the Contract during the Offer-to-Order (OTO) phase of a project
- Providing proposal team leadership in Conceptual Engineering, scheduling and cost calculation during the OTO process
- Working together with the Execution (Order-to-Cash (OTC)) Team as per T-Point requirements at Contract negotiation phase
- Leading the proposal effort and authoring the offers for projects assigned which may consist of competitively bid modernization or new hydro projects.
- Be able to lead technical meetings and offer presentations both internal and external
- Support the Sales Team to negotiate and secure the project
- Prepare and conduct handover and design review meetings to transfer awarded contracts to Project Management or Engineering Project Leaders depending on scope of project
Qualifications-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management or related discipline
- Minimum of ten years of experience in power generation industry with at least five years in hydro generation industry
- Broad technical background as related to energy sector
- Previous sales and proposal preparation experience is preferred with an understanding of basic project financial concepts, project estimation and risk management strategies
- Strong computer skills with good working understanding of Microsoft Office products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, self-directed, strong attention to detail and thoroughness
- Proven capability to lead multi-disciple teams for the development and preparation of complex proposals
- Ability to construct and manage the schedule for the preparation of complex proposals and with a commitment to maintaining and achieving deadlines.
- Must work effectively with and through others
- Ability to travel as required for customer discussions and negotiations.
