Quality Analyst II

Summary –
The Quality Analyst is responsible for assuring that the products being delivered to our clients meet our engineering standards, are fit for purpose and free from defects, operational problems, or errors. This is accomplished through providing support for all quality related activities and ensuring effective coordination between internal and external customers/suppliers during the marketing, engineering, manufacturing and installation phase of a project.
Responsibilities –
- Facilitate the incorporation of the customer and company quality requirements into processes and designs
- As necessary, review specifications, standards, drawings and/or requisitions with Engineering personnel to determine the following: Level and type of NDE required for components, Dimensioning and tolerancing, Dimensional Inspection Requirements, Customer Specification compliance, Requirements for source inspection (degree and type).
- Create and maintain project quality plans (Inspection & Test Plans)
- Participate is vendor qualification, auditing, rating and reporting process to assist in determination vendor capacity and capability
- Perform and/or Participate in the following:
- Shipping release open item resolution,
- Review/approval of vendor submittals (nonconformances, weld/NDE procedures, inspection plans, heat treatment/stress relief procedures and records).
- Review of customer specifications,
- Participate in manufacturing planning including review of routing,
- Auditing (Internal and External),
- Client/Source inspection.
- Lesson Learned Meetings
- Provide NDE inspection planning and scheduling (before, during, and after a project)
- Review of component inspection status and release for shipment.
- Verify inspection records & documentation compliance perform inspection results trend analysis
- Verify implementation of nondestructive and destructive evaluation methods
- Develop inspection and quality procedures and quality audit/surveillance records and perform audits and surveillance
- Perform process capability, investigate results of quality inspection disputes and root cause analysis studies and report
Qualifications –
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Welding, Materials, Quality, Industrial, or related engineering field
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience in Quality Management, Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality Management
- Experience in heavy manufacturing or engineer-to-order manufacturing is a plus
- Previous experience working in an administrative or quality role is a plus
- Specific knowledge of Casting, Forging, Welding, Machining, Visual Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, and Ultrasonic Inspections is a plus
- Must have a strong attention to detail and be highly organized
- Must be a reliable, self-starter
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess the ability to meet and interface with suppliers/customers and proactively work to resolve issues and accomplish tasks
- Strong ability to multi-task while maintaining the ability to meet deadlines for a variety of assignments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel at times
