Summary

Selected candidate in this position will work in a multidisciplinary environment under the supervision of the Supervisor of Purchasing.  The intern will work in close collaboration with procurement team members and will contribute to a variety of tasks.

 

Responsibilities

  • Involvement at all stages of the procurement process
  • Active participation at all stages of the RFQ (Request For Quote) process (preparation, launch, receiving bids, reviewing bids, recommendation)
  • Drafting Purchase Orders for generator/turbine unit components, services
  • Following up with suppliers when modifying orders, ensuring purchase order compliance, or perform system updates/maintenance
  • Supporting the team by performing tasks such as communicating with suppliers, filing and approval follow-up
  • Involvement / following up with job sites, international trade suppliers
  • Helping standardize operations, process documentation, ongoing improvement (Kaizen, Lean management, creative management, project team work, visual management)

 

Qualifications

  • Student in business administration, engineering or other related programs
  • Self-reliant, demonstrated sense of initiative and enjoys challenges
  • The ability to work in a team and contribute to that team’s growth is essential
  • Strong oral and written skills
