Material Group Manager Admin & IT (Purchasing) 
York, Pa 
 

Position Summary:

This position is part of the new Global Business Services (GBS) department of Voith, created to ensure a stronger centralization of the purchasing function.

This role operates in a specific Non Production Material (NPM) material commodity group and manages the supplier & commodity strategies related to IT Hardware & Software, Travel, Marketing, & Admin Services. The MGM is focused on protection of Voith's legal and compliance status, ensuring a globally consistent Voith approach in processes and supplier policies. In addition the MGM supports the North American Purchasing team in the execution of their responsibilities in support of the Voith Operating Units (OUs).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively collaborate cross-functionally to develop compelling commodity strategies and process enhancements that create value for Voith.
  • Support the NA Purchasing team in their mission to deliver excellent purchasing service to Voith Operating Units (OUs), ensuring compliance to defined NPM processes and development of sourcing strategies that support NPM Purchasing’s KPI Targets in cost, quality, delivery, & features.
  • Engage with OUs to understand business needs and key supplier selection criteria. Identify, prioritize, & lead projects that deliver Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings.
  • Connect  complex data to business needs to develop, communicate, and implement compelling Sourcing Strategies that add value & mitigate risk. Utilize data and facts to overcome resistance to change.
  • Establish, implement and monitor compliance to Frame Agreements and on-time completion of supplier deliverables. Lead corrective action follow-up when required.
  • Collaborate in the global NPM commodity management network by providing regional information and implementing global strategies.
     

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree 
  • 5 years of previous experience in purchasing
  • 3+ years of Commodity Management responsibility
  • Experience in and knowledge of IT Hardware & Software, Travel, Marketing, & Admin Service commodities
