Summary

The Master Data Specialist is heavily involved with the Engineering support team at Voith Hydro. The main responsibility for this position is the creation and maintenance of engineering data related to critical internal processes. The Master Data Specialist is the systems expert within the department and ensures compliance, tracking, and organization of information.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with engineers defining and entering Bills of Materials (BOM’s), based on sourcing and manufacturing strategy
  • Track engineering changes and distribute tasks to ensure compliance with revised designs and other functions in the organization (supply management, quality, site, etc.)
  • Keeping the department on schedule through follow up on engineering milestones and open tasks in the SAP system
  • Prepare reports related to project cost for management team
  • Develop standards, implement best practices and methods to promote effective use of the systems
  • Act as the main point of contact to the engineering team for systems training

 

Qualifications 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, industrial engineering or equivalent
  • Work experience with data creation and data management in industrial context, preferably with SAP
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Interest in working on technical products and projects in the renewable energy sector and learning the basic operating principles
  • Ability to multi-task based on business needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Effective teamwork skills
