Intern, Digital Hydro Products  
York, PA

Summary    In this internship position, the candidate will have the opportunity to learn from world class leaders in hydroelectric digitalization, automation, design, and operations. This opportunity affords the selected candidate both a broad and deep view of the hydro operations, trends within Hydro Power generation, and the emerging areas of analytics and excellence in sustainable operations. 

 

Responsibilities –

  • Participate directly in daily tasks for the planning, review, and forecasting of digital hydro strategic plan with executive management and other key stakeholders  
  • Evaluate early-stage concepts and product ideas to assess relative value/merit for market sizing, customer demand, and portfolio fit 
  • Survey internal and external stakeholders to solicit unmet needs and to validate relevance of various products and priorities with end customers 
  • Report on activities to senior management and share insights gathered to inform alignment with market trends, corporate goals, and customer needs

 

Qualifications –

  • Current full-time student in accredited college program; preferably in Engineering with hands on computer experience
  • Coursework in business, marketing or cloud computing are beneficial
  • Knowledge of digitalization and automation concepts and principals are a plus
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Performs well as an individual contributor as well as part of a team
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint – preferably with an eye towards presentation design

  • The employee is also required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low). The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office environment from 4-8 hours. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.
  • The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
  • Travel is possible to meet directly with customers and industry participants – as well as visiting active power plants.
