Engineer III, Quality Assurance 
York, PA

 

Summary

This role will be filled at either a Mid-Level or Senior Level.

 

The incumbent in this position provides technical direction for all quality related activities.  Ensures effective coordination of quality activities between internal and external customers during the planning and production phases of projects.  Develops and administers quality process control for incoming and production inspection activities. Works in multidisciplinary teams with a focus on improving area quality control and improving efficiency in processes.           Focus will be on establishing supplier requirements and execution of receiving inspection process.

 

Responsibilities

  • Disposition and control of nonconforming product
  • Develops and issues quality plans utilizing APQP methodology
  • Performing internal audits
  • Maintaining quality records
  • Analyze reports on the results and key indicators of the quality management system, including needs for improvement
  • Preparing and revising policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Acting as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality management system.
  • Promoting the awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications for Mid-Level

  • Minimum three years of experience with quality management systems
  • College degree in engineering technology, engineering, or physical science
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other similar Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with APQP is an asset
  • Ability to read drawings and understand basic GD&T
  • Good oral and written communication ability. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of information systems (ERP, MS Office, MS Outlook)

 

Qualifications for Senior Level

  • Minimum five years of experience with quality management systems preferably in an automotive IATF 16949 environment
  • Working experience of APQP Tools including PFMEA and Control Plan
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience participating in internal/external audits
  • College degree in engineering technology, engineering, or physical science
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
  • Ability to read drawings, understand and establish inspections for GD&T Attributes
  • Prior Inspection or Machining experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of SPC Analysis and Lean Six Sigma
  • Working knowledge of information systems (Navision, MS Office, MS Outlook)
