Engineer II, Service

Responsibilities –

 

  • Plans, assesses and executes automation engineering upgrades and field services. This includes off-site and on-site project assignments on automation, controls and electro-hydraulic control equipment for rotating machinery.
  • Conduct site assessments, customer consulting and report of findings to evaluate the condition of customer industrial assets in regards of safety, obsolescence and efficiency and presenting of improvement potentials.
  • Provide risk assessment, cost estimates and technical support for proposals.
  • Lead project engineering of upgrade and replacement control solutions. Collaborate with engineering and design resources.
  • Lead Installation planning and Installation support/supervision of new control and electro-hydraulic controls into the machine.
  • Start-up and commissioning of new equipment including development of specific test instructions.
  • Lead the Voith Automation commissioning team at site and be the voice to the customer representative in the case of complex projects where multiple Voith personal are required for the commissioning of the automation equipment.
  • Regularly feedback market intelligence regarding the customers you are working with to the leadership and sales teams.
  • Be proactive in your ongoing professional development and continuous education with your supervisor working to written short term and medium term plans.
  • Always follow Voith’s Code of Conduct and act above reproach with respect to compliance in all business relationships.  Act as a positive example and emphasize the need for full compliance with the Code of Conduct in all business relationships to the project management team.

 

Qualifications –

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, (BSME or BSEE with a preference of Power Engineering or Controls) from an accredited University.
  • Prefer 10-12 years’ experience in engineering service capacity.
  • PE Qualification (Preferred)
  • Hands on Experience with Industrial Automation Controls including Rockwell, Modicon and Siemens.
  • Prior experience with CodeSys Engineering development environment preferred.
  • Experience with Electrical Power Systems.
  • Experience with hydraulic power units.
  • Training and/or experience on the application of industrial Lock out Tag out Systems
  • Administrative abilities and demonstrated organizational discipline.
  • Analytical decision maker who is capable of making timely decisions with incomplete information exercising good judgement
  • Effective multitasker
  • Computer knowledge and skills: CAE Tools MS-Office, scheduling & ERP systems.
  • The job requires domestic and international travel between >50% of the time.
  • Fully fluent in written and spoken English.
