Summary –   The Engineer, Manufacturing Process supports the manufacturing facility in the process of manufacturing hydroelectric components and the processes required for the efficient operation of the facility. The incumbent must be safety oriented.

Responsibilities –

  • Support the processes and equipment needed in the manufacturing of hydro turbine/generator products in the Voith Hydro York facility
  • Identify, Initiate, develop business cases for manufacturing and facility investments while supporting through implementation with limited supervision 
  • Design necessary components to support various manufacturing assets and processes
  • Perform basic engineering calculations as required
  • Manage small and large capital projects
  • Suggest design changes, modifications, and standardization of facility equipment at an economical and competitive level.
  • Assist Maintenance personnel with engineering support and design
  • Assist Safety team in addressing facility safety projects and issues
  • Operates CAD equipment to complete work assignments
  • Prepare technical data required to complete project work
  • Keep supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments
  • The incumbent must be able to operate with limited supervision and is required to work onsite

 

Qualifications –

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering field
  • Minimum of One (1) to five (5) years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience
  • Demonstrate effective and collaborative teamwork skills
  • Ability to multi-task based on business needs
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Basic CAD experience
  • PLC experience / Troubleshooting controls systems is a plus
  • Must be able to safely work at heights (i.e., overhead crane platforms, roofs, and lifts)

  • The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office and manufacturing setting. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office and manufacturing environment from 4-8 hours. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch. The employee is also occasionally required to crawl, climb, and get into confined spaces.
  • The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
  • The job may require domestic and international travel.
