Summary:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing and supporting computer software used to generate 2-D and 3-D geometry for the design, analysis, and manufacturing of hydraulic components. The incumbent must also manage and maintain our Linux high speed computing cluster. The opportunity to assist hydraulic engineers with model testing, CFD analysis, and FEA analysis and manufacturing engineering with model and prototype manufacturing processes will provide insight for future software development projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Software development on the Windows Operating System using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET - Computer Languages: FORTRAN, C, C++, and C#
  • Software development within the Unigraphics CAD system using UG/Open API and UG/Open.NET
  • Maintenance and management of our Linux high speed computing cluster and associated hardware 
  • Linking of software and resulting geometry to 3rd party analysis programs 
  • Perform  hydraulic designs for stay vanes, wicket gates, runners, etc. (design and analysis)
  • Support all users in Unigraphics and freeform geometry activities 

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field 
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in related field
  • Knowledge of software development using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
  • Familiarity with Unigraphics or equivalent CAD system
  • Familiar with Linux operating system and high speed computing clusters 
  • An understanding of fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, and manufacturing processes
  • A strong interest in problem solving, the ability to communicate well, and the ability to work in multi national teams. Willingness to travel.
