Cost Analyst

Summary The Cost & Data Analyst plays an integral role in the accurate and timely preparation of the financial aspects of Company proposals for existing or potential customers.  The Cost & Data Analyst will support the Offer Project Manager and the Capture Team to develop a competitive proposal by performing cost estimates, calculating the cost of occurrence, and benchmark estimates with historical project performance.  The Cost & Data Analyst should be able to organize estimates and cash flow to present in a timely, comprehensive, accurate, and competitive manner to support the Capture Team in winning the proposal.

Responsibilities –

  • Responsible for the estimations, preparation, and coordination of the financial aspects of Company proposals in response to requests for bids for both budgetary and firm proposals from existing or potential customers
  • Prepares financial estimates, cost comparisons and cash flows for the  various proposals to which the Cost & Data Analyst is nominated as a member of the Capture Team
  • Works closely with the Offer Project Manager and the Capture Team to generate and prepare cost comparisons and project cost estimations for the scope of proposal works including cash flow forecasts and spend profiles
  • Provides timely support and feedback to the Capture Team during their commercial negotiations with the customer
  • Develop a system to perform comparative analysis of estimates with historical estimates or performance
  • Analyze and merge intradepartmental estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness to the specification
  • Streamline the handover process from proposal to signed contract for rapid project startup
  • Identify automation opportunities for reducing administrative effort and support the implementation of these projects

 

Qualifications –

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance or Engineering discipline
  • 3 years experience in project controlling, project engineering, data analytics ,  or manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • Prior experience/understanding of SAP or other ERP systems would be beneficial
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office
