Summary
The incumbent in this job is responsible for the physical movement and related system transactions for all material within the picking and shipping functions of the warehouse. The shipping lead guides a team to pick accurately and efficiently, pack and ship all out-bound material including internal processes. The lead works with internal contacts to prioritize and resolve process related issues.
Responsibilities
· Perform fast-paced, accurate shipping duties.
· Loading and unloading of trucks both inside and outside.
· Picking and preparation of material for workshop.
· Post picks, shipments, and bin-to-bin movements in MRP system.
· Use of handheld scanning device (WMS) to perform real-time inventory transactions.
· Coordinate with Logistics and Planning teams for non-standard shipment routing
· Coordinate with receiving lead for efficient warehouse bin layout
· MHE inspection/maintenance checks.
· Routine maintenance and housekeeping to maintain clean and organized workspace.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Minimum (3) years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· STRONG organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
· STRONG working knowledge of computers and Windows software.
· STRONG knowledge of inventory practices and procedures.
· SUFFICIENT product knowledge to resolve inventory issues.
· STRONG pick and pack techniques for shipping of inventory.
· PRIOR Forklift/High reach operation & certification.
· Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
· UPS/Fed-Ex/LTL shipping knowledge.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
- Must wear gloves and ear protection.
