Sr. Sourcing Manager

Summary –

The Sr. Sourcing Manager is a part time position. This position will develop and implement strategies for best practices regarding cost, risk and schedule balance for assigned commodities. The Sr. Sourcing Manager will continuously improve the processes and technical solutions to meet the customer’s expectations.

Responsibilities –

• Leads and manages overall supply chain activities for assigned projects from OTO (offer to order) to OTC (order to completion)
• Creates, controls, and executes project-related optimized sourcing strategies to ensure project success and risk mitigation
• Reviews customer specification and provides procurement related comments as needed
• Performs market analysis, negotiates diligently with suppliers on technical and commercial issues to ensure that material and services purchased are done so in the most effective manner at or below market levels or cost estimates for the work.
• Coordinates and aligns purchasing activities with the global Material Group Manager

Reviews, controls, forecasts and reports the status of the project purchasing budget and       activities as requested during project review meetings

• Purchases material and services (as signed) in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Provide customer-focused assistance to internal customers, particularly in association with key projects and requirements
• Develop collaborative relationships / strategic alliances with suppliers to promote quality improvement and cost reductions
• Support special project activities for the team as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain

Required Skills/Abilities –

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering discipline
• 7 - 10 years’ experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or Project Management in multinational corporation
• Hydro experience is a strong asset
• Ability to build networks and work in cross-functional environment with different suppliers

Physical Requirements –

• The employee is also required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low). The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office environment from 4-8 hours. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.
• The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
• The employee may be required to lift objects up to 25 lbs., and perform other tasks related to an industrial environment.
