Sr. Fabrication Specialist  
York, PA

 

 

Summary – We are seeking a Sr. Fabrication specialist to support our North American Hydro division in York, PA. This is a Journeyman position that requires previous experience in the fabrication of Hydro components. In the position you will work on training employees that will be fabricating unique one-off components for some of the largest hydroelectric machines in various thicknesses and grades of steel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude to learn, have strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Candidate must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the fabrication of hydroelectric components.

Responsibilities –

  • Basic discipline aptitude/attitude.
  • Strong ability to ready fabrication blueprints.
  • Create one-off complex steel fabrications based on a blueprint.
  • Perform 15 ton or less straight crane lifts.
  •  Be able to perform and teach machine layout.
  •  Be able to teach how to fabricate a component from raw plate.
  • Have strong mathematical skills

 

Qualifications –

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED
  • Required
    • Gas Metal Arc Welding knowledge.
    • Flux Cored Arc Welding knowledge.
    • Advanced blueprint reading courses.
  • Preferred
    • Gas cutting by hand.
    • Plasma cutting by hand.
    •  Gas cutting using track cutter/buggo.
    •
