Summary:

The Global Communications department of VT Group Division is responsible for strengthening and developing the positioning and reputation of Voith Turbo in line with the corporate/divisional strategies and communication strategy derived from them.

In this context, the objective of Global Communications VT is to deploy efficient, target-group-driven global communication to strengthen the understanding and commitment of internal and external stakeholders to the focus areas of the division’s markets and industries and thus help ensure Voith’s successful business activities and profitable growth. In doing so, Global Communications VT works closely with all divisional functions, Group Communications and corporate Voith functions and offers them advice on strategic communication. Another key responsibility is to collaborate with customers worldwide on joint communication activities.

The Global Communications Managers VT (GCM) are responsible for independently developing a communication strategy for the respective topic in line with the overarching strategy, and for developing and implementing global communication measures. In this conjunction, the GCM is responsible for content creation and its distribution across all channels and formats. Based on the required market and product understanding, the GCMs support the division’s various markets and industries. In this way, the GCM strengthens and helps expand VT Group Division's global market position, customer communications, and the positive perception of Voith based on market-based and target-group-driven communications.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate possible investments in events, trade conferences and sponsorships and work closely with Tradeshow and Project Specialist on execution.
  • Develop or work with outside agency on corporate and product related publications and promotional materials such as newsletters, advertisements, brochures and other content.
  • Plan, coordinate and develop all product related communication and marketing activities with a focus on Voith Turbo in North America.
  • Develop region relevant key messages that are consistent with the Global Marcom Turbo division and keep messaging platforms up to date.
  • Create relevant, compelling and audience-focused content which is in-line with Global MarCom strategy and regional O.U.’s business strategy, and be responsible for the content integrations across all channels, format and consistency.
  • Provide strategic counsel to management teams, O.U. leaders and relevant agencies to build the Voith product brand name, image and standard.
  • Support and formulate comprehensive North American social media strategy via relevant channels and provide insights to appropriate teams.
  • Support and develop relevant content strategy and implementation plan which needs to be part of overall integrated North American Voith Turbo marketing communication plan.
  • Keep editorial calendar up-to-date and responsible for reporting.
  • Develop, plan and execute plans for product launches and promotion campaigns.
  • Deliver quality product and services related advertising/promotion/trade conferences, product launches as well as individual projects, provide measurable results, work closely with Trade Show and Event Specialist on processes and upkeep of the master calendar.
  • Plan, coordinate and develop all product related communication and marketing activities with a focus on Voith Turbo in North America.
  • Work closely with O.U. leadership, sales teams and SME’s to ensure objective and tactics are fully aligned from planning stage.
  • Annual budget/activity planning, incorporating external and internal communication measures, in consultation and agreement with the VP Global Communications VT
  • Independent development and implementation of communication concepts adapted to the division level, business segments and focus areas of VT
  • Responsible for meeting all budgetary and timing requirements (budget controlling)
  • Ongoing development and extension of specialist expertise and independent elaboration of messaging for the respective topic.
  • Independent creation of content for integrated communication campaigns, product launches, product promotion, reference communication, image and strategy communication etc. with global relevance
  • Targeted distribution of independently produced communication content via the communication mix (360-degree communication): PR work (trade media) including the compilation of press releases, interviews and statements, answering media inquiries, conducting press briefings etc.
  • Internal communication including production of vip-News, Talking Points etc. and ongoing development of VT’s intranet presence.
  • Online communication activities including social media (compiling posts, paid campaigns etc.) and Voith website (compilation and maintenance of product and sector pages, including lead generation)
  • Design and implementation of multimedia like videos and moving images.
  • Production of print media including design and realization of the customer magazine
  • Planning, organization and implementation of worldwide trade fairs, events and conferences (incl. digital and hybrid formats)
  • Ongoing development and refinement of communication channels (optimization of the user journey, implementation of technology trends etc.)
  • Independent monitoring and controlling of communication activities and budgets and determination of resulting optimization measures.
  • Management and coordination of external service providers and agencies
  • Regular monitoring of market and competitors

 

Required Skills/Abilities (Example – modify as necessary):

 

  • A strong team player in a face-paced environment, adaptable to changing demands and conditions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and the ability to organize and plan with continual follow-up until completion.
  • Familiar with direct mail programs and CRM (preferably Salesforce).
  • Familiar with media buying and development of media schedules.
  • Solid writing and editing skills a must (technical writing a plus).
  • Detail oriented, proactive and self-managed.
  • Familiar with effective and unified content marketing approaches and developing audience focused messaging platforms.
  • Strong work ethic and takes ownership of projects- delivered on time, every time.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholder audiences.
  • Some travel required.
  • Computer competency: Excel, PowerPoint, etc. (InDesign and Photoshop a plus)
  • Responsible for the communication strategy, content and channels for the respective topics and departments.  Budget responsibility and maintaining business relations ships with service providers and agencies.

Education and Experience (Example – modify as necessary):

 

  • At least 10-12 years working experience in marketing, marketing communications and/ or corporate communications within global company or global digital agency (BtoB a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
