Logistics Specialist

Summary –  The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the keen and economic development of transportation solutions meeting the needs of the project and schedule.  Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Logistics, this individual plays a key role in the daily execution of the movement of goods in our supply chain.

Charged with executing deliveries and coordinating international transportation needs, incumbent will have deadlines and budgets to meet while working with various project manager. 

Responsibilities –

 

  • Develop key relationships with various carriers and establish competitive rate levels in line with budgets and expectations.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with regulatory authorities  (Dimensional permits)
  • Negotiate volume opportunities and establish key rates with vetted and approved carriers.
  • Coordinate the issuance of various transportation documentation with all modes (Import & Export)
  • Promptly follow up on all assigned shipments underway and coordinate timelines with sites and manufacturing.
  • Comply with U.S. and Canadian Customs Regulations.
  •  Develop various transportation plans for dimensional loads with specialized carriers.
  • Tend to the needs for the transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • Responsible for overseeing loading of various components to trailers in our main plant, York, PA and coordinate with engineering teams on method statements and lashing requirements.

Qualifications –

  • Graduate degree in logistics Management or International Commence is preferred
  • 5 – 10 years of experience preferred
  • Comfortable with dimensional components
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and  SAP
