Summary –  The Regional Quality & HSE Leader is responsible for deploying and maintaining quality, health, safety, and environmental strategies across the region in alignment with global governance and operational standards. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and ISO standards while leading regional Quality & HSE teams to drive operational excellence, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. The position oversees audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions, manages customer quality feedback and environmental risks, and monitors key performance indicators to support data-driven decision making. By partnering with global functions and regional operations, the role strengthens business management systems, standardizes best practices, and fosters a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the organization.

 

Responsibilities –

  • Deploy and maintain regional Quality & HSE strategies aligned with VH/VHZ governance.
  • Ensure fulfillment of relevant regulatory, legal, and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Lead and develop regional Quality & HSE teams, ensuring capability and adequate staffing.
  • Maintain and enhance BMS processes, instructions, and KPIs.
  • Plan and execute internal and external Quality & HSE audits, including follow-up actions.
  • Lead preventive and corrective actions, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses.
  • Manage customer quality feedback and oversee hazardous material and environmental risks.
  • Deploy and monitor Quality & HSE KPIs; prepare the annual management review.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (OPEX/EPEX) and standardize best practices.
  • Provide reporting and ensure alignment with global Quality & HSE functions.
  • Full empowerment over regional Quality & HSE program implementation and improvements.
  • Authority to block or reject non-compliant suppliers, processes, or components.
  • Power to assign tasks and initiate problem-solving activities based on data analysis.
  • Functional leadership over regional Quality & HSE teams.

 

 

 

Qualifications –

  • Engineering degree or equivalent; several years of leadership experience in Quality/HSE.
  • Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, ISO 19011).
  • Strong knowledge of regulations, standards, and operational best practices.
  • Competence in Lean Management, risk assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with SAP, SharePoint, MS Office, and HSE tools.
  • Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and customer-focused mindset.
  • Fluent English; willingness to travel (30–50%).

 

 

Physical Demands –

Employees in this position are regularly required to walk, stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel. They are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. They are often required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.   Employees are required to talk and hear in an industrial setting (noise level can be high at times) and regularly required to lift 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
