Head of Construc. & Comm. Quality

Summary –  Lead the Field Service Quality function by deploying strategy, tools, and systems; managing staffing and capability development; supporting site quality planning and FMEA activities; driving data-based continuous improvement; capturing project lessons learned; monitoring the site quality budget; and participating in problem-solving initiatives.

 

Responsibilities –

  • Deploy and maintain Field Service Quality Function strategy, tools, and systems
  • Ensure proper function staffing and resources allocation, based on data and workload analysis
  • Constantly monitor and develop staff capabilities
  • Supports the development of site-specific strategies and schedules, ensuring that all relevant quality activities and requirements are considered and consistent to the strategies
  • Supports, facilitates, reviews and releases site Process FMEAs, verification and validation reports, ensuring proper method application, risk analysis & Classification, actions definition and their implementation
  • Support and facilitate continuous improvement activities within VH (E.g., at Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Field Services) based on project-specific data analysis
  • Ensure project lessons learned (positive and negative) are produced and management system changes are implemented, as necessary
  • Overall monitoring of the Site Quality Budget and to inform the Head of Project Management and Head of Quality accordingly (e.g., compliance with SFC value; proceeding in case of deviations)
  • Mandatory participation in problem solving activities
  • Participation in FMEAs (DFMEA and PFMEA)
  • Occasional business trips 30% of the time

 

 

Qualifications –

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, electrical, material, as applicable) or equivalent
  • Qualification NDT Level II
  • Relevant work experience in Quality Management & Quality Engineering
  • Relevant professional experience and knowledge in business processes as well as in non-quality functions like Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, Purchasing
  • Auditor qualification acc. ISO 19011. Certification as Lead Auditor is preferred
  • Qualification in electrical, dimensional and NDT testing
  • Practical knowledge in using IT-tools: SharePoint, SAP< MS Office, database tracking programs
  • Good Lean Management background preferred

 

 

Physical Demands –

Employees in this position are regularly required to walk, stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel. They are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. They are often required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.   Employees are required to talk and hear in an industrial setting (noise level can be high at times) and regularly required to lift 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
