    Summary

      The Cost/Data Analyst is a key contributor to the company's sales department, particularly in relation to the creation of proposals for current or potential clients. Their responsibilities include accurately and efficiently preparing all financial components of these proposals. This involves conducting cost estimates, forecasting escalations, and benchmarking these estimates against the financial performance of past projects.

      The Cost/Data Analyst works closely with the Offer Project Manager and the Capture Team to develop a competitive proposal. They are also responsible for performing cost estimations for new projects by referencing previous ones, and reviewing estimates created by other departments to ensure their accuracy and comprehensiveness.   Their role also includes the organization of estimates, pricing, and cash flow data, which they must present in a clear, comprehensive, and timely manner.

 

Responsibilities –

  • Responsible for the estimations, preparation, and coordination of the financial aspects of Company proposals in response to requests for bids for both budgetary and firm proposals from existing or potential customers
  • Responsible for cost estimation of custom manufactured components by referencing recent executed projects. Transforming actual costs into today’s costs by considering factors such as size, quantity, weight, inflation, and other market Indices.
  • Responsible for completeness of estimates by facilitating a complete review of drawings and identifying list of materials to be quoted.
  • Auditing and Review of estimates provided by different departments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepares financial estimates, cost comparisons and cash flows for the various proposals to which the Cost/ Data Analyst is nominated as a member of the Capture Team.
  • Works closely with the Offer Project Manager and the Capture Team to generate and prepare cost comparisons and project cost estimations for the scope of proposal works including cash flow forecasts and spend profiles.
  • Provides timely support and feedback to the Capture Team during their commercial negotiations with the customer.
  • Analyze, Review and Integrate intradepartmental estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness to the specification.
  • Streamline the handover process from proposal to signed contract for rapid project startup.
  • Identify automation opportunities for reducing administrative effort and support the implementation of these projects.

 

Qualifications –

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Engineering discipline
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in reading and analyzing Engineering Drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience/understanding of SAP or other ERP systems would be beneficial
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office
