Application Engineer II 
York, PA

 

 

Voith US Inc. seeks an Application Engineer II (York, PA) to define the integration and implementation of products into customer systems and equipment. Provide input into the design and development of equipment and systems, develop technical sales proposals, and integrate existing solutions to meet customer requirements. Assist in commissioning Voith rail products, conduct dimensioning calculations and simulations, and report on warranty and service investigations. Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BoMs), interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Provide technical support to various North American teams. Maintain customer and job files per Engineering Department Standards. Collaborate with customers, vendors, and international colleagues, particularly for localization projects, and serve as the Complaint Management point of contact for Rail products. Create and release design packages. Analyze customer technical specifications. Conduct material cross-references and assist the supply chain with supplier audits. Participate in engineering and design reviews and undertake special projects as requested by leadership. Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. 15% domestic travel and 15% international travel required for client meetings, customer interactions, product proposals, training sessions, field troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.

 

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience in a service or engineering position within the mobility or rolling stock industry. Must have 2 years of experience with: Preparing application drawings; Drafting proposal Bills of Materials; Analyzing customer technical specifications; Creating clause-by-clause (CbC) evaluations; Executing localization processes including material conversion; Utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems such as NX, SolidWorks, Creo, and Autodesk; Organizing and managing customer records, job documentation, and drawing files in strict adherence to Engineering Department Standards; and Providing technical support to North American project management, service, aftermarket, sales, and production teams regarding design, aftermarket & service, and commissioning issues. Must have experience with: Developing technical sales proposals for the company's products and integrating existing solutions to meet customer requirements; Assisting in the commissioning of rail products, conducting calculations and simulations, and reporting on warranty and service investigations; Analyzing customer technical specifications and creating clause-by-clause (CbC) evaluations for the transit or rolling stock industry; Collaborating with customers on engineering design and addressing any questions or issues; and Coordinating with vendors to ensure the compatibility and compliance of supplied or proposed parts. 15% domestic travel and 15% international travel required for client meetings, customer interactions, product proposals, training sessions, field troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
