Your tasks

• You will be responsible for development of the existing supply base as well as the expansion of our supplier portfolio with the focus on best cost countries (TCO). 
• In this role you will functionally lead the global activities and closely work especially with the category and sourcing managers both in corporate headquarters as well as the regional supply chain organisations across the globe.
• You will analyse manufacturing and logistics processes at the supplier premises to improve performance and expand both capabilities and capacitiy.
• From your analysis you will draw the key conclusions and are able to recommend actions both to the supplier as well as the Voith Hydro management.
• Regular reporting, continuous improvement, process management and optimization will form part of your daily activities in your reporting line to the SVP Global Supply Chain.
• You will act as the escalation function in case of supplier performance issues while having the lead on delivery and cost and in addition the close liaison with supply chain quality for quality related issues.
• This role will require regular international and overseas travel (up to 30%). This position is based in one of the global Voith Hydro facilities (except Germany).
• A strong interaction with all interface functions, especially engineering, quality and project management will be a crucial enabler for the success of this role.

Your profil

• As this role has a technical focus you will have a technical bachelor’s and master’s degree with at least 10-15 years of industrial experience of which at least 5 have been in a leadership position.
• Experience in the field of project driven businesses, ideally hydro power generation, is desirable.
• A very high degree of intercultural competence and excellent communications skills in English are mandatory. Further language skills are an advantage.
• You have a high level of entrepreneurial thinking and are comfortable to work with both technical as well as commercial topics.
• Strong people skills and a natural interest in mentoring younger members of the team are part of your profile.
