Sales Engineer, Hydro, Located in Kenya
Minimum Requirement
- Degree/ diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering
- 3-5 years relevant work experience in the hydro industry is a key requirement.
- Experience in selling, negotiating and concluding commercial service agreements/
contracts.
Ideal Requirements
- A master’s degree or MBA could be an advantage
- 10 years relevant work experience in the hydro industry is a key requirement.
- Knowledgeable in competitor activity, market drivers, products, strengths, threats,
market share, client base - Experience in providing technical service to customers.
Other Requirements
- Excellent sales & negotiation skills
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the application of
selling skills in various client/ market contexts - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Proven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables
- Self-Starter with problem solving skills.
Purpose of the job
Increase profitable market share for a geographic area and service and maintain the existing client base.
Primary Duties
- Sell and secure orders for hydro products and product services to decision makers in the industry through a relationship-based approach
- Identify new customers, targets and opportunities to increase market share
- Maintain a visible and active presence in the market to facilitate the development of new business relationships and maintain existing clients
- Research and analyse the market to understand key business drivers, influences, competitor activity and market potential in the hydro industry.
- Conduct product application audits at customer facilities
- Ensure that all aftermarket support services, and customer service agreements (SLAs) are delivered to standard and continuously improved upon
- Market share penetration (repeat business/ growth in existing business base)
- Customer service/ satisfaction ratings: measured through customer feedback, compliments/ complaints.
