Technical Sales Expert

This position will have travel of at least 60% of the time. Candidate can be remote anywhere in the U.S. but West Monroe, LA is a preferred location as significant travel will be done to that facility.

Summary:
Learn, develop, and apply your knowledge/experience to paper machine optimization and the application of Voith roll cover technologies. You will work under the Director of Sales Applications and work among our Internal Sales, CSRs, local Sales, Product Management/R&D, and Operations teams. You will work to ensure the correct product for a customer application is selected and support our digital portfolio through installation and start-up support.
Instill confidence in both our sales force and customers through product and application knowledge. Understand customer (papermaker) objectives and key measures and relate these to our roll cover products. Grow the business by developing a thorough understanding of market conditions and customer expectations by travelling with and training our sales/service force on the roll cover product line. You will become the subject matter expert our customers and sales rely on for any roll cover questions.
Responsibilities:
- Providing value to customers by offering solutions to improve paper machine performance. Solutions should be focused on specific customer needs.
- Presenting well informed and targeted information on roll cover products/technologies, benchmarking and best practices or concepts to sales, service, and customers.
- Developing and Executing (with other key Stakeholders) strategic growth plans for identified accounts. Take an active leadership role to yield annual order growth.
- Being actively involved in trial planning, customer proposals, trial evaluation and Continuous Improvement estimation and documentation.
- Lead root cause analysis for roll cover performance issues.
- Supporting trial coverage, assists with performance evaluation vs objectives.
- Maintain up to date necessary safety protocols.
- Develop and maintain Application Best Practice Sheets based on performance analysis, Approve Products and Product Capability.
- Identify new application needs.
- Monitor key machine performance parameters and update.
- Communicate within relevant applications groups important experiences. Develop and distribute regular roll cover performance updates and success stories.

- Ability to travel overnight 60% of the time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Computer Science, or comparable field
- Industry related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
