Summary:
The Field Service & Doctoring Solutions – Sales Manager is responsible for growing the Field Service and Doctoring business for the North American region by developing new customer accounts as well as through growth of our existing customer base. You will manage the assigned product portfolio which requires the candidate to champion and lead the product line to achieve targeted sales revenue, margins, and market share. You will represent the product line needs internally with R&D and Global Product Management for our marketplace. You will also manage a team of applications experts and CSR(s) focused on Doctor Solutions and On-Site Services. Lastly, you will market the product line brands and work to position it with our desired customer base by working in alignment with sales and global applications management. In addition, this position will provide supervision of technical and service work during on-site jobs. This position also promotes the sale of all Voith products, parts and services to customers.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the entire Onsite team is focused on the safety performance of our employees and contractors to the highest level. Ensure all employees and contractors meet Voith and Customer safety requirements prior to starting any service.
- Makes sales calls to customers to promote Voith Field Services (FS) and Doctoring Solutions and to obtain opportunities to generate individual quotes and long term contracts where applicable.
- Develops and executes the North American Onsite Field Service business development plan to align with the overall strategic growth targets.
- Meet growth targets by identifying and focusing on customers where we have an opportunity to gain business.
- Will be expected to accurately scope the work needed and generate quotations for these services.
- Work closely with the VP Operations to ensure we have proper staffing quantity and quality on jobs that are to be executed.
- Will be expected, at times, to act as supervisor to field crews.
- Promotes value-added products and technical services and exhibits the results for customer understanding and acceptance, including any necessary data analysis and reports.
- Promotes the “One Voith” focus and ensures alignment and coordination between the different Voith Paper divisions.
- Ensure inventory needs for doctor blades and parts are maintained to efficiently serve the NA market needs.

Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school is preferred.
- Must be well versed and experienced with paper machine mechanical repairs.
Physical Requirements:
- Employees in this position are regularly required to walk, talk, hear, stand, and use hands to handle or feel. They are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. They are occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Regularly required to lift 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE are required in designated areas.
- This position is remote, and expected overnight travel demands of 3+ days per week is typical.
