Summary:
The Senior Manager of Operations leads the operating unit, which is made up of approximately 40 employees, to achieve the annual targets for safety, quality, efficiency, and profit. This position is also responsible for managing the site leadership team to ensure development and execution of a clear strategy and plan to achieve these goals.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures all site employees are focused and measured on fulfilling our strategy, goals and commitments with a special emphasis on safety, quality and financial performance.
- Engages site employees to ensure everyone understands the business objectives, the status of the objectives and how individual performance impacts the objectives.
- Works with sales and product management regularly to fully understand the customer’s needs regarding quality to consistently achieve desired results.
- Initiates the development of documented solutions to address all gaps in safety, quality and financial performance.
- Communicate and collaborate routinely to update on business results and performance levels both collectively in groups and individually with the leadership team.
- Promotes a work culture were creativity and standardized systems are harmonized to create the expected results consistently with an ever present element of continuous improvement regarding safety, quality and financial performance.
- Ensures high levels of performance through operations and employees. Understands the most critical aspects of the operation and how to optimize them in a timely and comprehensive manner.
- Experienced in recognizing and/ or integrating AI tools and low-code technologies, including MS Copilot, MS Power Automate, and other AI frameworks, into existing workflows to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
- Creates an environment where all employees are rewarded for excellent performance and corrective actions are developed for performance deficiencies.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of leadership experience and 1 year of operations management required
- Bachelor’s degree with technical or business major required
- Must be well versed in operational excellence, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with AI and low-code technologies is preferred - Knowledge of AI frameworks and tools, including MS Copilot, Power Apps, or MS Forms or similar.
- Proficient in MRP/ERP systems and data analytics programs, including JD Edwards, Power BI, and Pyramid BI. Capable of running queries to extract data and compile information for data-driven business decisions.
- Strong coaching, developing, mentoring and leadership skills required
- Must have experience in problem solving and project management.
- Must have customer service orientation and strong communication skills
- Also must have a strong attention to detail, interpersonal and people management skills
- Must be able to work full time on-site at our Springfield, OR facility.
- The job requires occasional domestic and international travel
