Summary: The HSE and Operations Expert is responsible for functions of HSE, Quality, and Lean Manufacturing.

 

Responsibilities –

  • Health Safety and Environmental:
    • Managing operational and environmental permits
    • Facilitating and organizing compliance safety trainings
    • Developing and reviewing Job Safety Analysis, Risk, and Ergonomic assessments
    • Processing of incident reports and investigations
    • Coordinating safety audits
    • Monthly KPI analysis/ reporting and tracking of corrective actions.
  • Quality:
    • Quality system monitoring
    • Assisting with customer complaints, root cause investigation, and follow up of corrective actions.
    • Manage calibration program with outside support
    • Coordinating internal quality audits
    • Monthly KPI analysis and tracking of corrective actions.
  • Operations Excellence:
    • Promoting lean culture throughout the facility
    • Defining plans for implementation of lean tools (5s, Kaizen, Shop visual management, etc.)
    • Coordinating continuous improvement workshops and projects
    • Coordinating operational excellence audits
    • Monthly KPI analysis and tracking of corrective actions.
  • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Generating and updating process documentation; work instructions, flow charts, PFMEA, etc.
    • Improving plant layout and workstations
    • Managing capital projects and proposals

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Ergonomics.
  • Experience with environmental management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Quality systems.
  • Knowledge and experience applying lean tools, capable of teaching and coaching other team members.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.  Engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for an extended amount of time, walk and reach with hands and arms. Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
