Summary:

This role is responsible for the setup, disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of spreader rolls, ensuring all work meets Voith quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The position requires hands-on experience with large mechanical equipment, proficiency with a wide range of tools, and a team-oriented approach with flexibility to support operational needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, disassemble, inspect, repair and re-assemble spreader rolls. Must have knowledge of repair practices and be able to maintain Voith quality standards in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Must be familiar with operation of mechanical assemblies and have knowledge of spreader rolls. Must have knowledge of how this equipment is used in the manufacturing operation of paper machines and related equipment.
  • Experience in setups and practices used in working on large equipment.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical tools and equipment, including drills, taps, pullers, bearing heaters, presses, hydraulic test units, 25-ton overhead cranes, forklifts, hand trucks, and standard hand tools to support manufacturing and maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude that supports a productive shop environment.
  • Perform all job duties safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Voith quality standards.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime and shift schedules as needed.
  • Show willingness to learn and adapt by supporting additional operational tasks as required.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma preferred but not required if the experience level, determined by Voith management, off-sets this requirement.
  • Must have knowledge of repair practices and be able to maintain Voith quality standards in an efficient and safe manner. 
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, including spreader rolls, and how this equipment is utilized within paper machine manufacturing operations and related systems.
  • Experience in setups and practices used in working on large equipment.
