The HSE Intern is responsible for HSE functions needed to fulfill the HSE Business plan model for the site and the liaison for HSE projects among NA, operating units.

Responsibilities

  • Health Safety and Environmental:
    • Update historical incident records in HSE platform   
    • Update HSE SharePoint data where directed
    • Update training matrix for all operating units
    • Leverage HSE programs as instructed to all OU’s
    • Create drafts of Job Safety Analysis including Ergonomics
    • Processing of new Incident reports into incident portals
    • Coordinate Safety activities related to HSE Business plan models & schedules
    • Input open actions into HSE action tracking database for all OU’s
    • Monthly HSE KPI analysis, and tracking of corrective actions
    • Develop spreadsheets and forms
    • Assisting with safety related projects

 

Qualifications

  • Student of safety related field. Preferred junior or senior within one year or progression towards graduation
  • Preferred exposure/knowledge of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with computers applications MS Office suite, CAD, including electronic document control and distribution
  • Preferred exposure/knowledge of safety related platforms
  • Preferred exposure/knowledge of safety, environmental, quality management systems
  • Knowledge and experience applying Lean tools
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills and ability to independently manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for an extended amount of time, walk and reach with hands and arms. Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
