Summary: The Manager of HSE & Quality leads all Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and Quality functions within the facility. This role ensures regulatory compliance, fosters a strong safety culture, and maintains effective quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Health Safety and Environmental (HSE):
    • Promote and sustain a proactive HSE culture to reduce incidents and risk.
    • Manage operational and environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
    • Facilitate and organize compliance safety training.
    • Develop and review Job Safety Analysis, Risk, and Ergonomic assessments.
    • Process incident reports and investigations, manage worker’s compensation claims and return to work programs.
    • Coordinate safety audits.
    • Analyze/report monthly KPI's and tracking of corrective actions.
    • Oversee and manage of all required legal requirements.
    • Support corporate HSE activities.
  • Quality:
    • Monitor Quality systems by reporting, investigating and correcting conditions in manufacturing processes that result in non-conformances (NCRs).
    • Manage internal audit program and quality initiatives.
    • Assist with customer complaints, root cause investigation, and follow up of corrective actions.
    • CMM management, calibration, training, and maintenance and managing the IMS system to meet ISO and Voith requirements.
    • Coordinate internal quality audits.
    • Monthly KPI analysis and tracking of corrective actions.
    • Manage document control system.
    • Manage product quality, including response to product restarts/rejects, investigations, etc.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent safety and health track record in programs and processes. 
  • Prior labor relations experience is a plus. 
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in HSE and/or Quality roles.
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
