Role:

Leading the OtC project team to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget and per quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Total responsibility for the success of the project, including commercial, technical, legal and technical compliance, risk and Owner satisfaction. (Stakeholder management)
  • Lead and coordinate the OtC project team in a matrix organization to manage commitments and motivate performance.
  • Assess the status of the project against Plan (Time-Cost-Quality). Declare breakdowns and initiate corrective actions when a risk of deviation to exceed Plan allowance erupts.

 

Major Activities:

  • Deliver the project to customer in Voith quality, in time and at minimum cost.
  • Interface with customer and his consultant, his appointed contractors, main subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Lead the OtC team consisting of project managers, and key performers from various functions as well as major consortium members, subcontractors and installation contractor. Ensure all along the contractual requirements are met and Voith processes are followed.
  • Oversee and verify the project accounting, costing and billing. Lead cash collection.
  • Approve sourcing strategy and ensure it’s followed.
  • Look ahead planning and forecasting from project start until project closure.
  • Monitor physical progress analyze deviations and implement counter measures. Events may be triggered internally or externally.
  • Periodic evaluation of risks and chances and accordingly update cost to complete.
  • Lead claim management including identification of circumstances, development of strategy and negotiation with customer and suppliers. Follow the contract claim procedure.
  • Regular internal reporting and project reviews with Management. Monitor the functional KPIs. Regular project escalation (follow escalation and communication rules). Periodic external reporting to customer.

 

Qualification and Basic Requirement:

 

  • Project management experience of 15 years plus in International EPC contracts in plant business.
  • Bachelor degree (University) in business administration / project management or mechanical / electrical engineering or equivalent is preferred.
  • PMP certificate is a plus.
  • Overseas experience (example: China, Africa) is a plus.
  • Good English skills in reading and writing. Basic in Mandarin is preferred.
  • Frequent travel to site is necessary.
