Products and Services Specialist – Southern US Territory: Area includes Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Primary business in the Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma area. Must live or be willing to relocate to the AR, LA, TX or MS area.
JOB PROFILE SUMMARY
The Regional Sales Manager generates orders and sales for Voith Paper, Products & Services. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for promoting the Paper Machine (PM) division products and services to the Southern US territory customers, helping them understand how those products, repairs, spare parts & services will support their needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain relationships with Customers in the Southern US territory to understand how Voith Paper can serve their needs. Extensive travel to visit customers and job sites, to manage and develop the products, consumable, spare parts and service business for the products and services group. Research, execution and follow up reporting on mill visits.
- Uncover existing opportunities at the mill for new equipment or expansions, work with mill personnel and Voith personnel to develop these opportunities from inception to final sales.
- Support territory Customer Service Specialist to ensure that Voith gets maximum opportunity for Spares and Repairs business.
- Provide feedback to Voith Paper through call reports and verbal communication to ensure Voith Paper provides the optimal solutions and services to our customer.

Understand Voith Paper products and benefits
- Communicate with all product managers for training on products.
- Learn details of mechanical and process features of all Voith products.
- Pursue discussion with customers and colleagues to learn how the products will benefit the customer.
Determine customer needs in the territory
- Probe customer to ensure we understand their needs and goals.
- Learn the customer local process in detail.
- Visit customer frequently to ensure our products are at the right ones. Reinforce our knowledge of their process.
- Question customer frequently on standard operating procedures and expected outcomes.
Ensure existing customers are satisfied with Voith Paper products and services
- Build a record of Voith installed base in the territory.
- Communicate with multiple levels of Customer organization for feedback on Voith product and services.
- Understand how the Voith products can impact customer operations, positively or negatively.
Provide feedback to Voith Product managers
- Determine product competitiveness, competitor’s activities.
- Define market needs for Voith products and services.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with pulp and paper supplier firm or experience working in a paper mill.
- Excellent understanding of the paper industry with emphasis on recycling and stock preparation, paper machine and finishing.
- Skilled in communications with customers with an ability to focus on strategic opportunities and benefits-based approaches.
- Self-starter who can develop opportunities independently and communicate with a wide variety of resources within Voith Paper.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and ability to write detailed technical reports.
- Bachelor’s degree, University, College or equivalent in engineering or paper science minimum.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) in English required.
LOCATION REQUIRED
Must live or be willing to relocate to the AR, LA, TX or MS area.
Travel within the region is expected from the position (~70%) with nights away from home.
