Summary
The incumbent is directly responsible for identifying market, product portfolio and individual customer strategies and opportunities. The position requires a strategic thinking, self-starting individual who is able to interact with varying personal backgrounds, abilities and educational levels in both a business and social environment. The person must be willing to travel and develop new business relationships in the United States for low and medium voltage electric motor and generator applications for ELIN Motors(division of Voith Turbo).
Key Responsibilities
- Market Development:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, markets, and customer segments for ELIN Motors products and services.
- Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to position our products effectively.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to penetrate the market and achieve sales targets.
- Customer-Relationship-Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Lead technical discussions, negotiations, and contract discussions, ensuring favorable terms and long-term partnerships.
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Drive sales activities, from lead generation to closing deals, with a focus on high-margin products.
- Collaborate with marketing to create targeted campaigns and sales materials.
- Manage the sales pipeline, forecast sales, and report progress regularly to European and North American HQ
- Provide technical and sales training to existing Voith Turbo Industry sales team as needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product management, R&D, and operations with ELIN Motors – Weiz, Austria to align product offerings with market needs.
- Support the development and launch of new products, ensuring they meet customer demands and market trends.
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the local Voith Turbo Industry sales team, ensuring alignment with group strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven track record in medium voltage electric motor sales and/or business development in medium voltage electric industry
- Experience with international customers and managing complex sales processes.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify market opportunities and craft strategic plans.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
- Proficiency in MS Office; SAP knowledge is an advantage.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German languages are a plus.
- Personal Attributes:
- Results-driven with a high level of initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 70% travel, 30% office-based).
