Summary –  

Provides overall project leadership through complete project life cycle (from proposal phase to complete execution), to supply parts and services for the complete hydroelectric power plants equipment supplied by Voith, including, but not limited to turbine, generator, balance of plant electrical & mechanical and automation/digital.  This includes facilitating decision making process throughout the project, interpretation of the contract documents, providing the interface between the company and customer, as well as all functions as needed to successfully complete the project profitability goals and contractual requirements.

 

Responsibilities –

Main responsibilities:

  • Leading the proposal efforts (cost, schedule, scope, quality, etc.) to provide accurate and concise offers for services & parts, as above mentioned, in line with contract requirements and customer specifications;
  • Managing the project team members during negotiation with the customer, when applicable;
  • Overseeing the Sales Order number creation, as well as the budget uploaded into the WBS when the OTO proposals turn into OTC orders, for the above mentioned projects & services;
  • Executing the SAP transactions applicable to projects for services & parts above mentioned;
  • Maintaining good working relations with customers (internal and external), internal suppliers, and vendors in order to receive the cooperation necessary to complete the component supply, and to provide technical assistance required to support customer schedules.
  • Managing overall projects for services & parts, leading the execution crew at site and create of contingency plans, as well as continuous efforts to develop change orders that bring value to customers and profitability to Voith;
  • Making logical decisions under extreme pressures to resolve customers’ problems.
  • Accountability on the success of the proposals & projects for services & parts above mentioned, including, but not limited to: commercial, technical, price level and customer satisfaction;
  • Taking accountability for the commercial and technical success of proposals and projects, including NCR creation, RCA conduction, and support of Service Managers and Business Development activities in the region.

Other responsibilities:

  • Be ready to support the Service Manager on Business Development activities being deployed in the region.

 

 Qualifications –

 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or an Associate’s degree in a related field with a corresponding work history.
  • Minimum of a five year experience in hydro power or supporting industry is required. 
  • Organizational skills combined with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Highly developed report writing and technical skills are essential.
  • Must be able to consistently prioritize and complete multiple tasks in the time allotted with minimal supervision.
  • Travel will be sporadically required within the North America territory to visit Customer sites and follow up with suppliers with exposure to industrial environments. 

 

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Must wear gloves and ear protection.
