Sales Manager - Power Transmission Technology

The role requires senior sales skills combined with technical knowledge as well as working experience in the power transmission technology.

 

The Sales Manager is part of the Industry sales team and is the key point of contact for the customers. He/she provides both pre- and after-sales advice, supporting the sales administration team in preparing quotations/contracts, and promoting products and services, with focus both on stationary applications (e.g. Metal Industry, test benches, bulk material handling…) and the Marine market.

 

He/she collaborates regularly with the other members of the sales team, within the country and worldwide, and with colleagues from different departments in the headquarter, based in Germany.

 

He/she manages the customer relationship on all levels.

 

Ideal age range from 40 to 50, but not a must. Availability to settle in Reggio Emilia is a plus.

 

Typical work activities

 

  • Develop and reinforce partnership with key customers in the territory (Italy)
  • Customer relationship management,  taking care of the long-term relationship with the customer through managing and interpreting his requirements
  • Execute sales strategy  and give input for products and/or services needed  in the sub-region for power transmission technology products 
  • Ensure reaching defined sales targets (KPIs, e.g. sales volume, margin quality, market share) – regional  targets set by Regional Sales Manager 
  • Organizing sales visits, frequent business travels (60% of working time) 
  • Monitoring the market share of the company and of the competition 
  • Putting in place actions to expand the market share of the company and to increase the presence of the company in the market
  • Identifies new market opportunities and projects and reporting and follow them up with the company CRM 
  • Negotiating offers and contract terms and conditions to meet both customer and company needs
  • Closely working with the sales administration team which prepare customer quotations and performs sales administration
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support services
  • Preparing reports using the company CRM 
  • Making product presentations 

 
Qualifications


Ideal candidate must be self-motivated, sociable with customers and colleagues, full of initiative and good team worker. He/she must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, and when submitting reports.

 
The candidate has to be organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approach.

 
He/she must already have a strong experience in the power transmission technology.

 
He/she must be prepared for frequent presence at the Customers’ sites.


Knowledge of both Italian and English language is a must.


Requirements

 

  • Mechanical Engineer or Business Management degree from recognized university or high level of expertise in Power transmission technology for stationary applications or Marine market.
  • 4+ years relevant experience in a.m. market, in a technical role
  • Experience in sales
  • Availability to travel regularly in Italy and occasionally abroad (Germany and Western Europe countries as required)
  • CRM system knowledge as an advantage
  • German language as an advantage
