Prep operator trainee
York, PA
Summary: We are seeking a prep operator trainee to support North American Hydro division in York PA, In the position you will work on unique one-off components for some of the largest hydroelectric machines in the world. Cutting and rolling various thicknesses and grades of steel. This is a trainee position so all training is on the job training.
Responsibilities:
- Basic discipline aptitude/attitude.
- Operate forklift for moving small components.
- Perform 15 ton or less overhead crane lifts.
- Completion of blueprint reading classes.
- Clean and protect parts.
- Cutting plate on NC table.
- Gas and plasma cutting bevels.
- Grinding parts.
- Hot forming.
- Furnace operation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional bending and twisting.
- Able to lift 50 LBS on occasion.
- Extended lengths of standing or sitting.
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must wear all required PPE for job task.
