We are currently searching talents for the position of:


Manager of HSE, VHNA  
Oakville, Ontario

Your tasks

  • Reporting to the Director of HSE & Quality, develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Set up and Audit and Inspection program to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
  • Manage and coach, Site Safety Officers and Safety Supervisors
  • Audits, training and support of construction project startups on site with site safety officers.

 

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree, Health, Safety and Environment or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to communicate in French.
  • Fluent in English mandatory
  • Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to meet and interface with customers and have the capacity to work to resolve issues and accomplish tasks between internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Must be available to travel 50% of the time, and sometimes for a week at a time.
