For the Service Sales Team of Voith Turbo Canada, we are looking for talents for the position of:


Sr. Field Service Technician  
Calgary, (AB) or Mississauga (ON)

 

The Sr. Field Service Representative reports to the VP of Service Sales, Industry and creates a long term trustful relationship with customers and provides technical solutions to meet customer expectations. A mindset of customer satisfaction, quality service and safety first is required.

 

The incumbent manages all phases of field service cycle including but not limited to:

  • perform inspections, repairs, overhauls, alignment and commissioning in the field
  • technical support
  • determination of scope of work and parts requirement
  • scheduling
  • providing assistance to insides sales
  • assist quotation process with job duration & expense estimates
  • support order generation and dispatching of tooling

 

Responsibilities

  • Examine, Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, reassemble, overhaul and perform general maintenance on all Voith Hydrodynamic and Geared Industrial products in the field or at a Voith facility.
  • Execute and lead task with great level of Safety standards.
  • Provide commissioning, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs and troubleshooting services for Voith Industrial products.
  • Act as the project manager for all field service jobs including management of third parties in order to secure the service timeline.
  • Provide customer support to customers / operators via in person, phone and/or email.
  • Provide documented service analysis and / or reports for preventative maintenance, failure situations, repairs and overhauls
  • Arrange and execute and safety training required by customer for site entry
  • Provide service support for direct sales force.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Manager.
  • Some international travel outside of North America.
  • Promote after-sales business, as upgrades, maintenance programs
  • Coordinate scheduling of work requested by customer and arrange support of other field service representative if required
  • Assist inside sales with quote creation by providing parts required, scope of work, duration of work and expected expenses
  • Assist insides sales coordinator for order creation
  • Assist inside sales with planning of tooling requirement and any other items required for dispatching
  • Submittal of expenses, timesheets and reports for expedient invoicing of customers
  • Other Duties as assigned.

 All tasks above must be performed with strict adherence to Voith OPNs, SOPs, directives, guidelines and authority matrix

Education

  • Post-secondary education in mechanical field an asset
  • Red seal ticket or equivalent required

 

Working Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with field work in a similar industry (mechanical rotating equipment).
  • PLC controls experience is an asset
  • Vibration Analysis experience is an asset

 

Knowledge and abilities

  • Good written and oral communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely relay information to customers in writing (Service Reports) and phone conversations.
  • Ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with customers.
  • Confident decision maker
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
  • Fully fluent in English with very good communication skills. Knowledge of French is an asset
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office
  • Ability lift and carry up to 50 pounds

 

Other particularities for this position

  • 24/7 days per week availability
  • Travel up to 60% of total working time
