Service Technican, Mississauga Workshop

For the Voith Hydro, Inside Sales and Operations team, we are looking for you as a:

Service Technican, Mississauga Workshop 




  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild all of VTC product lines within Industry
  • Perform necessary testing to Voith standards, i.e LPI, Pressure etc.
  • Complete inspections forms, create condition reports, and create quotes for in-house and field service work
  • Must be able to support inside sales or outside sales team with estimating jobs to determine the length of time and materials/equipment required to complete the job safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate with internal & external suppliers to acquire drawings, BOM, pricing, and all other necessary information required
  • Provide technical support to customers and other Voith groups
  • Ensure all service item tags are on all service items and with the latest status
  • Work with inside sales to ensure efficient and timely completion of all jobs
  • Responsible for verifying the calibration and documentation of all associated  gauges and measuring equipment used in service work
  • Assist with shipping / receiving physically and in Navision 
  • Perform or facilitate facility maintenance
  • Conduct 6S  audit monthly with colleagues and completing 2 finding per month
  • Other duties as assigned




  • Technical Diploma in mechanical field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanical technician in a similar industry (rotating equipment).
  • Completion of apprenticeship in mechanical field
  • Must have knowledge and experience with rotating equipment (i.e. motors/machine tools)
  • Must be able to read drawings to determine work procedures to perform dismantling, inspections and assembly to overhaul machinery & equipment, using hand and power tools / equipment (press, drills, grinders, torches etc.).
  • Knowledge & experience in tolerances and fits
  • Blue print / schematic reading
  • Knowledge and experience in metal working / machining
  • Must be able to move, assemble and install machinery and equipment such as shafts, bearings, oil tanks and oil seals, piping, coolers, etc. Must be able to use cranes, pulleys, dollies, rollers, and forklifts
  • Fluent in English with good communication skills
  • Ability to pass a medical exam, drug and alcohol test, respirator qualification test, and background check required by Voith customers.
