Voith Paper Ltd are looking to recruit for the following position based at our site in Middleton.

Roll Design Engineer

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will apply engineering skills and mechanical design solutions to ensure high standards for the maintenance and repair of paper machine equipment and rollers.

Key Tasks 

•    Produce manufacturing and proposal drawings;
•    Provide technical reports for internal and external use;
•    Root cause analysis and stress calculations;
•    Produce reports, calculations, specifications and engineers estimates/tenders;
•    Source technical spare parts and materials;
•    Provide paper machine engineering support to our customers;
•    Site visits to take measurements
•    Leader for small projects

Person Specification

•    Qualification in Mechanical Engineering essential
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in design engineering, working in a production environment desirable;
•    Experience in roll design desirable;
•    Ability to plan and prioritise and work to tight deadlines;
•    Able to work independently but also act as a key member and sounding board for the production team;
•    Experience in 3D design softwares, preferably in Autodesk Inventor & AutoCad
•    Experience in ERP software preferably in SAP or JDE
