Position is based in York, PA or Houston, TX
Sales of Retrofit Solutions incorporating Voith Turbo products and services while achieving the objectives outlined by group management:
Responsibilities:
- You will assume the function of technical contact person at customers and support the internal interfaces (engineering, sales, purchasing, etc.) in contract award negotiations and clarification of technical problems.
- You will be responsible for carrying out extended customer consultations, considering technical and economic aspects following a technical inventory (also on site at the plant) as well as the analysis of profitability potentials.
- You are responsible for the commercial and technical development of complex retrofit and modernization solutions for powertrains as well as solutions for services on NON Voith machines. This can include complex special solutions across locations in combination with other Voith industrial products.
- The coordination and execution of retrofit projects within the framework of (partial) project management as well as the optimization and further development of existing operating solutions also fall within your area of responsibility.
Tasks:
- Conducting feasibility analyses, training and education for customers and team members.
- Upkeep of opportunities within the Sales Force database (CRM)
- Working at customer sites which could include working on/around gas turbine installations, pump installations, compressor drives, conveyor drives and mining facilities.
- Build contacts at consultants, authorities and trade associations in cooperation with other Voith Sales Teams and Management
- OEM’s, EPCs and End User monitoring with focus on the future mega trends
- Participation at industry trade show exhibits
- Drive technical & commercial negotiations of retrofit orders
- Assistance in overdue invoice collection as requested by management
- Aid in development and implementation of business strategies to ensure sales target achievement

Your profile
- You have successfully completed your studies in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or comparable and have professional experience in the field of service, service sales or technical sales of drive machines.
- You are able to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics and specifications. These will include, but will not be limited to, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil disciplines. A familiarity with common machine monitoring and control systems is also preferred.
- Ideally, you already have initial experience with integrated drive systems, consisting of several components (electric motor, base frame, gearbox with fixed or variable speed) and in project management.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications is required. In addition, good knowledge of the systems in the immediate environment (e.g. Navision, Sales Force, Product Configurators) is desirable.
- Very good English skills, spoken and written, are required; other foreign language skills (e.g. German, Spanish, French) are an advantage.
- Good technical writing skills
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple independent tasks including but not limited to forecasting and CRM tool management
- A strong ability to work in a team, independent work, innovative thinking and a good understanding of processes are among your personal strengths.
- You are willing to travel (approx. 30%). Frequent travel to Germany and throughout North America
Physical Requirements:
- The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is moderate).
- The employee is frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surface from 4-8 hours.
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
