The program gives you the opportunity to find your individual way within our broad business set-up. We offer you a varying development journey for junior engineers or technical graduates. Your working areas relate to strategically important and current business issues, including high interaction with other departments and interdisciplinary approaches.
The program consists of an appropriate onboarding in your department, including functional and personal trainings dependent on your individual requirements. According to the job set-up and your interests, job rotations and a short-term international trips may be included. You additionally benefit from an experienced mentor, who will ensure a well-suited introduction into Voith as a company.

Your tasks

  • Take responsibility for the development of "smart" products and modules in the paper manufacturing process (focusing on the environment of rolls and clothing of a paper machine in the context of Industry 4.0). 
  • Lead development projects using common project management tools and monitor projects to ensure objectives are met.
  • Integrate real and virtual sensors into our products and generate significant added value by using AI, AR, etc. 
  • Ensure communication and networking between our departments (product management, application) and production sites to guarantee product developments meet the customer requirements. 
  • Take responsibility for technology screening focusing on Industry 4.0 and select suitable automation and sensor technologies. 

 

Your profile

  • Excellent master's degree in physics or engineering (e.g. mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering). 
  • Good understanding as well as initial practical experience in the areas of Industrie 4.0, IoT, AI or AR/VR.
  • Experience in project management, programming and handling microcontrollers.  
  • Experience in research and development is advantageous. 
  • Very good knowledge in programming (Python or Matlab) with enthusiasm in software development.     
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken). 
  • Practice-oriented action, methodical and structured approach as well as independent and innovative working method. 
  • Willingness to occasionally travel worldwide.
