Design Engineer (m/f/d) for turbine and pump impellers

In this, at Voith Hydro unique, centralized as well as globally operating function, you will have the following tasks

• Technical order processing in quotation and execution phases and project management for turbine and pump impellers.
• Quality assurance through pre- and final acceptance of impellers.
• 3D-CAD impeller and blade modeling for foundry (weld preparation and shrinkage allowance) and reparameterization of blade profiles.
• Create drawings, define manufacturing tolerances, tolerance data sheets, inspection records, stencil layouts.
• Continuous close coordination with manufacturing and subcontractors for quality assurance and further development.
• Support globally distributed design teams on technical issues related to impeller design and manufacturing.
• Further development and optimization of impellers with regard to manufacturability and strength.
• Interdisciplinary coordination with hydraulics and structural calculation departments.
   

Your profile

• Degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable qualification with a good technical understanding of construction elements.
• Very good knowledge of 3D-CAD programs (preferably NX).
• Professional experience in a related field is an advantage, but we are also happy to give graduates (m/f/d) a chance.
• Ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and a self-confident appearance.
• Independent and structured way of working.
• Very good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel internationally from time to time.
