Your tasks

• Take responsibility for the new design of hydraulic steel components and the evaluation of existing structures using analytical and numerical methods based on current standards and guidelines.
• Work in the global hydraulic steel engineering team for the joint processing of projects in the bidding and execution phase. 
• Provide expert support as well as design review for hydraulic steel structures and interfaces to steel structures and civil engineering in general to all internal sales units. 
• Take responsibility for business development and product management in the field of hydraulic steel structures (product and business field development). 
• Take on global project management as Lead Engineer (m/f/d) with interface management to other specialist areas in hydraulic steel engineering.
• Develop tools to accelerate processes in the field of penstocks and closure elements.
• Work closely with external stakeholders on design drafts. 
• Take responsibility for the documentation of developed standards.

Your profile

• Degree in hydraulic steel engineering, steel construction, civil engineering or mechanical engineering with a good technical understanding of construction elements.
• Very good knowledge of 3D-CAD programs (preferably Solid Edge).
• Professional experience in a related field is an advantage, but we are also happy to give graduates (m/f/d) a chance. In addition, there is the possibility of a doctorate in the subject area. 
• The position offers a very high degree of creative freedom; for this reason, good self-organisation is absolutely essential. 
• Ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and a self-confident appearance.
• Very good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of German is an advantage (other languages such as French are also welcome). 
• Willingness to travel internationally from time to time is given.
