Support the Voith Group | Corporate Development & Sustainability as

Head of Industrial Heat Platform (m|f|d)
Job ID 77378 | Location Heidenheim

The Opportunity

Voith is one of the world's leading industrial technology companies, with over 155 years of expertise in energy, paper, and drive systems. Heat electrification — and specifically industrial high-temperature heat pumps — is a key strategic growth field, driven by customers' urgent need to decarbonize their thermal energy use. The global industrial heat pump market is expected to more than triple by 2035. Voith is uniquely positioned to capture this opportunity, combining deep industrial process expertise with strong integration capabilities. Building on an established pipeline of attractive opportunities, customer relationships, and initial pilot projects, Voith is now accelerating the scale-up. We are seeking a builder and entrepreneur who can take this business from early traction to a scalable, institutionalized platform. You will own full P&L responsibility, define and execute the strategy, build the organization, drive strategic M&A, and scale the business into a substantial triple-digit million-euro platform.

What You Will Do

  • Own the full P&L and drive commercial development of Voith's heat electrification business end-to-end — acting as a "Mini-CEO" with direct exposure to Group leadership
  • Define and execute a scalable go-to-market model; convert a strong pipeline into closed orders and long-term customer relationships
  • Shape the business strategy across industries (e.g., Paper, Food & Beverage, Chemicals), offerings, and positioning along the value chain — from system integrator to integrated OEM
  • Build and scale the required business model, including EPC, hybrid models, and service-based revenue streams
  • Lead M&A activities end-to-end, including identification, evaluation, and execution of priority transactions
  • Establish and expand a high-performing team with strong technical, commercial, and operational capabilities
  • Act as the external face of Voith's heat electrification business towards customers, partners, and the broader ecosystem
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Voith divisions to mobilize capabilities and accelerate growth

What You Bring

  • Proven track record in building and scaling industrial B2B businesses, ideally in situations close to or at the center of a zero-to-scale journey

  • Full commercial responsibility experience, including P&L ownership and deal-making at senior levels

  • Strong background in CAPEX / project-driven businesses (EPC, plant engineering, system solutions) with high complexity

  • Deep understanding of industrial energy, decarbonization, or process heat, with the ability to translate customer needs into scalable business solutions

  • Hands-on M&A experience and the ability to integrate acquisitions effectively

  • Entrepreneurial mindset combined with the ability to operate within a larger organization

  • Strong communication and leadership skills to attract and retain top talent and engage stakeholders from board-level to individual contributors

  • Comfortable making decisions and operating under uncertainty

  • Fluent in German and English; international experience preferred

  • Experience in adjacent sectors (industrial energy efficiency, heat exchangers, thermal systems) is a plus
