We are offering many work study subjects for a single intern, in order to match as well as possible the skills, knowledge and interests of the applying students.

 

Below is the work study concerning the engineering department:

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">To research old job files to extract parts and material purchased on that job to create Bill of Materials for specific rolls. Review old drawing and organize them in our MRP JDE system.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Hydraulic Roll guideline implementation

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Finish what previous summer student project and foremost establish clear guidelines for CC rolls and some unique swim rolls (big seals) when doing dynamic tests.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Head Fit and Torques Standardization

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Head fit standardization in 3-4 weeks (which includes torque), we would hope to write directly in JDE the value of Head fits, bolt specs and torque for the first 25 suction rolls bigger than 36-40" in diameters of each plants.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">FEA Simulation

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Solid Works - to simulate higher head fits than present, under real machine conditions and to check some specific cases quickly when we realize that we are too high. Try to setup classic equations but it does not look possible to simulate the suction shell at the intersection where the holes pattern finishes and the shell is solid.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Upgrade of Dynamic Balancing Machine

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Review of current machine design, calculate and design upgrade motor and source components for upgrade of dynamic balance machine. 

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Customer Account projects – special upgrades\modification

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">To assist Project Managers with customer accounts. Internal sales, quotation, reports and review of customer paper machine roll design, implement standard upgrade design and develop new upgrades base on existing condition.
