Summary:

The Mill Services Specialist is to coordinate and facilitate Voith Paper (P&S and FRS) aftermarket service activities for an assigned contract customer.  The role will collaborate with the responsible Regional Sales Managers, Service Managers, Parts Managers, Repair Managers, and other functions are required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Customer’s main communication channel for all aftermarket activities related to Voith Paper, includes rebuild opportunities, spare part needs, and service support.
  • Meet or exceed all safety and compliance expectations.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain consignment parts inventory per the customer / Voith agreement, includes tracking re-order requirements, invoice schedules, safety stock levels, sunset parts, and in-process inventory.
    • Act as a liaison between Voith and customer to communicate deliverables and customer expectations.  
    • Performing onsite inventory counts as needed.
    • Work with customers to build a mill spare parts strategy to optimize parts inventory and ensure part availability to prevent machine downtime.
    • All gaps between customer expectations and actual performance are documented, analyzed and solutions are developed, where appropriate, to close gaps.
  • Documentation Support
    • A system is in place to ensure the documentation and drawings deemed necessary for part identification and maintenance activities are accessible and current.
    •  Utilize and promote the use of Voith ordering systems and platforms to enhance customer's visibility to critical information.    
  • Organizational topics
    • Track the status of outstanding RFQs, customer orders, repairs, and warranty topics, communicate any delays with customer.
    • Attend customer’s shutdown planning meetings, review maintenance job plans, and confirm proper parts and support are in place for outage.
    • Support customer and Voith logistical requirements to include shipment type, urgency accurate and on-time deliveries, and customer warehousing / receiving needs.
    • Track consignment topics, inventory levels, cycle count, invoicing issues.
    • Responsible for communicating monthly customers and internal reporting that includes parts usage, accounts receivables, inventory status, repair status, and service plans. 

 

Requirements:

  • A technical school or college level degree and or equivalent experience desired.
  • A Minimum of a two-to-three-year experience in the pulp and paper or similar industry is desired.   
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and bills of materials is required.
  • Experience working around or on Paper Machine equipment a plus.
  • SAP experience highly desired
  • Spanish speaking and writing ability beneficial. (for Mexico only)
  • Some travel, depending on territory location, will be required (up to 10%) 
  • Strong communication skills, both, verbal and in writing.
  • Strong Customer relation skills.
  • Knowledge of a manufacturing facility (machining, welding and assembly, etc.).
  • Proficient in the use of computers utilizing Windows based programs as well as being able to learn and utilize the SAP ERP system and the legacy AS400 BPCS system for every day work requirements.
