The Tenders Manager (OPM) is a self-starting individual with firm strategic rationale and a background and training that support interaction between a variety of technical and commercial disciplines.  These qualities also contribute to providing effective leadership and guidance to the members of the bid team in accordance with the strategy of the assigned project.  The OPM should possess excellent communication skills, whether oral or written, as well as robust negotiation skills.  A strong work ethic, personal commitment to meeting deadlines as well as the ability to travel are prerequisites for the position. 


Main Responsibilities:

  • Align practices and monitor internal and external commitments from defining the strategy up to the signing of the contract during the Offer to Order (OTO) phase.
  • Provide design, planning and costing leadership during the OTO phase.
  • Work in collaboration with the Order-to-Cash (OTC) team on contract and negotiation terms.
  • Manage the proposal effort and draft assigned project offers that may consist of tenders for refurbishing existing hydroelectric projects or for new hydroelectric projects.
  • Occasionally leading meetings and presenting tenders internally or externally.
  • Head project presentations and review meetings with the aim of transferring contracts that were attributed to the project management or project engineering team, depending on the breadth of the project.
  • Prepare budget bid submissions.
  • Occasionally take part in business development activities (eg. Product presentations).

  • Experience in a similar position (asset)
  • Knowledge of the hydroelectric industry (asset)
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written (French and English)
