Sr. Sourcing Manager 
Remote

 

This position can be filled remotely with travel being up to 50% of the time to meet with suppliers located in Mexico. Preference is to a candidate located in Texas or Southwest U.S., or Greater Chicago area.

Responsibilites:

  • Develop a N.A. specific purchasing sourcing concept with main focus on Mexican supplies buy vs. make
  • Reviews customer specification and provides procurement related comments as needed
  • Performs market analysis, negotiates diligently with suppliers on technical and commercial issues to ensure that material and services purchased are done so in the most effective manner at or below market levels or cost estimates for the work.
  • Coordinates and aligns purchasing activities with the global Material Group Manager
  • Build- up of a N.A supplier base to support the P&S Spare and Wear part business
  • Capacity planning together with sub - suppliers.
  • Coordinate time critical delivery purchases with OM / Project Mgr. in order to ensure an on- time delivery for the shop assembly or onsite delivery.
  • Provide customer-focused assistance to internal customers, particularly in association with key projects and requirements
  •  Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (Canada / MX)
  •  Purchases material and services (as signed) in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Develop collaborative relationships / strategic alliances with suppliers to promote quality improvement and cost reductions
  • Support special project activities for the team as assigned by the Sr. Manager of Purchasing
  • Travel up to 50% of the time

 

Qualifications:

 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering discipline
  •  5 - 8 years’ experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or Project Management in multinational corporation
  • Paper machinery experience is a strong asset
  • Ability to build networks and work in cross-functional environment with different suppliers
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented with the desire to solve problems
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of SAP software
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish (verbal and written) required.
