SUMMARY

The Field Service Expert Fiber System will supervise the installation of Voith stock preparation equipment in the Pulp and Paper Industry and support maintenance and services activities in this area. He will perform equipment quality inspections in the field to ensure good runnability and highest efficiency of the Voith equipment. Job duties include customer training on preventive maintenance and repair tasks. This position will require travel to customer sites but can also be executed as remote service if applicable.

The Field Service Expert Fiber Systems needs to document installation/service job details and communicate through technical reports.  This includes parts recommendations and all necessary follow up activities.  He creates a long-term and trustful relationship with our customers where technical solutions are provided to meet our customer business demands. Ensure excellent service execution focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure a safe work environment in the field during work execution.
• Plan field work based on available time schedules. Determine required resources and tools.
• Prepare Field work by reviewing technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Execute field work with a high focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Properly prepared for kick off and exit meetings with customers.
• Generate technical field service and installation reports including detail information about recommended spare and wear parts.
• Complete time and expense reports.
• Supervise third party installation work ensuring quality assembly.
• Work in collaboration with engineering companies, contractors as well as different Voith departments involved in the project execution.
• Support customer’s troubleshooting.
• Follow up action list and support final acceptance test by the customer.
• Train customer teams for maintenance routines/operations.
• Recommend and oversee the maintenance of stock preparation equipment’s.
• Support estimating time and resources for service quotations.
• Conduct or participate in meetings with managers, co-workers, and / or customers.
• Supervise in-house equipment’s assembly (only in specific cases).
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Paper Technology and a minimum of five (5) years of pulp and paper mill service or mill maintenance experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to customer sites, occasional international travel will be required (mainly Canada and Mexico).
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong technical drawing and P&I intrepretation.
• Remote support by video and phone tools.
• Proficient in Windows based programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
• Basic SAP skills to review drawings and part information (training on SAP will be provided)
• Strong communication skills, verbal, and written.
• Excellent customer relations skills.
• Paper industry experience
